Sounding an alarm, a circular has been issued by the secretary to the Meghalaya Secretariat Administration Department C P Gotmare asking all employees to refrain from taking the items inside their office without proper security check.

“It has been brought to the notice of the department that many employees working in main and additional secretariat buildings have been purchasing materials/items through online shopping and the same were taken inside without any security check which invariably compromised the security apparatus put in place,” Gotmare said in a circular.

Gotmare said that the Meghalaya (Civil) Secretariat is a highly security zone, and scanning of online items is mandatory.
