The Meghalaya police department on Tuesday denied issuance of any advertisement for filling up various vacant posts in the department.

A release issued by the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), G K Iangrai, said in the past few days, certain documents of the Central Recruitment Board pertaining to recruitment in various posts within the police department have been circulated in public domain.

The release stated that as of date, the Central Recruitment Board (CRB) has not issued any official advertisement to invite eligible candidates to apply for various posts within the department.

“Until such advertisements are published through print media and have been hosted in the website of the department, the general public should not be misled by documents being circulated through social media,” the police officer said in the statement.

He said the Central Recruitment Board in due course of time will publish the advertisement accordingly.
