Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju on Saturday came down heavily on the Mukul Sangma led Congress Government in Meghalaya alleging that several of the central schemes meant for the development of the State could not be completed because of the hurdles posed by the Congress government in the State.

“The Central Government could not implement many schemes in the State because of the non-cooperation of Congress Government in the State. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after forming the Government in Meghalaya would expose all the   scams committed by the incumbent Congress   Government,” Kiren Rijiju said while addressing an election rally in Shillong on Saturday.

Kiren Rijiju also assured that the Central Government will extend all possible help to strengthen the security system in the state of Meghalaya.

Addressing the BJP election meeting garnering support for the party’s Pynthorumkhrah candidate, AL Hek, at Nongmynsong on Saturday evening, Kiren Rijiju said that the Centre would provide security to the State not only internally, but even at the inter-state border with Assam and international border with Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, addressing at the election rally, Union Minister of State for Tourism, KJ Alphons slammed AICC president Rahul Gandhi for doing nothing for the Christians of the State.

A crowd of around 2000-3000 was present at the rally where top leaders of the BJP campaigned for AL Hek, the party’s unofficial chief ministerial candidate.
