People in Samin Rongalgre village of Meghalaya’s East Garo Hills district celebrated Holi is a unique way.
On the occasion of Holi the East Garo Hills district administration in Meghalaya undertook a special initiative.
The festival of colours was celebrated by the people of Samin Rongalgre village in East Garo Hills in Meghalaya by painting and completing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) house belonging to a specially-abled person.
People from all walks of life came together to complete the painting work of the house of Nito R Marak from Samin Rongalgre village in Songsak Block in East Garo Hills district of Meghalaya.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) East Garo Hills district Swapnil Tembe also took part in the painting of the house.
“We thank everyone who came today and those who contributed for providing some house-warming gifts,” said East Garo Hills DC Swapnil Tembe.
“Community work has great power to bring change,” East Garo Hills DC Swapnil Tembe added.
