Guwahati: Shillong’s annual tribute to legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will return on May 24, with musicians and music enthusiasts set to gather for the 55th edition of Bob Dylan’s Day in the city.

Organised by the Lou Majaw Foundation, the event will feature performances by veteran musician Lou Majaw along with Reuben Z Lyngdoh, Christopher Dylan Majaw, Phrangsngi Wahlang and Diaclezziana Melbie M Nongrum.

The organisers have planned two sessions for the programme. The first session will be held at Khyndailad in Police Bazar from 4 pm to 6 pm, while the second session will take place at Cafe Shillong in Laitumkhrah from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Unlike conventional ticketed concerts, the event has been designed as an open public gathering celebrating Dylan’s music and poetry through live performances.

Organisers said the open-air format reflects Shillong’s long-standing connection with rock and folk music traditions, which have shaped the city’s cultural identity over the decades.

Shillong’s Bob Dylan tribute, spearheaded by Lou Majaw, has evolved into one of the city’s most recognised cultural events and continues to draw audiences from across the region each year.
