Guwahati: The North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya has formed a committee to prepare a comprehensive report on the allegations of mismanagement and administrative failures against Vice Chancellor Prabha Shankar Shukla.

The committee is to be headed by NEHUTA president Lakhon Kma.

It also includes members from various stakeholders, including NEHUTA, NEHUSU, KSU NEHU unit and senior professors.

The committee’s report, expected to be submitted by Tuesday is focused on four key points indicated by the Ministry of Education.

The committee further expects to present a strong case against the VC.

Shukla is accused of NEHU’s declining rankings, controversial appointments, infrastructural neglect, and “non-responsiveness” to student concerns.

The university’s acting Registrar, B Rynjah, stated that they have not received any intimation on the visit of the two-member committee constituted by the Ministry of Education.
