An FIR has been filed against Thomas Sangma, National People’s Party (NPP) MLA from North Tura constituency in Meghalaya.
The FIR lodged by the victim in Shillong, accused NPP MLA Thomas Sangma of rape.
The victim alleged that Thomas Sangma raped her on several occasions by making false promises of marrying her.
The victim alleged that Thomas Sangma used to raped her either at her residence or at a hotel in Shillong.

The victim alleged that she was first raped by Thomas Sangma at a Shillong hotel.
She said that Thomas Sangma had threatened her from approaching the police and promised to marry her.
“I agreed to have an affair with him, but I never knew that he was blabbing only to satisfy his lustful desire and to have sex with me on the pretext of getting married,” the victim stated in the FIR.
The victim in her FIR alleged that NPP MLA Thomas Sangma had been raping her on the pretext of marrying her from January 2020 till April 17 this year.

Meanwhile, Northeast Now tried to contact Thomas Sangma for his reaction on the matter, but received no response.
