Meghalaya has registered 17 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s total tally to 1,023.
While sharing the data regarding Meghalaya’s latest COVID19 status, chief minister Conrad K Sangma in a tweet on Saturday informed that the state’s active cases stand at 594.

The director of health services, Meghalaya, Aman War said of the 17 persons who tested positive, 12 are from East Khasi Hills, three are BSF personnel in West Garo Hills district and 2 persons are in North Garo Hills district.
Meghalaya chief minister informed that of the total active cases, 263 patients are personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF) and other armed forces.
Apart from the BSF and armed forces’ personnel, the total number of other active patients, who are currently undergoing treatment in various hospitals, is 331.

A total of 423 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid Care Centres across Meghalaya after they tested negative.
According to War, Ri-Bhoi district has 65 active COVID19 cases, West Garo Hills has 31 active cases, West Khasi Hills has 6 cases, East Jaintia Hills has 18 cases, West Jaintia Hills – 15, two cases each in North Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills and South Garo Hills district.
