Congress MLA from Meghalaya’s Mawryngkneng constituency – David Nongrum passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday.
David Nongrum was just 42 years of age.
David Nongnum died after suffering a cardiac arrest.
David Nongrum was immediately shifted to the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) after complaining chest pain.
However, the Hospital authorities declared him brought dead.
David Nongrum, a two-time MLA from Mawryngkneng, was the son of veteran Congress leader and former Meghalaya speaker Charles Pyngrope.
David Nongrum was first elected to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in 2013 as an independent candidate.
Later, David Nongrum joined the Congress in 2018.
David Nongrum contested the polls for the Meghalaya Assembly on Congress’ ticket in 2018 and managed to win from the Mawryngkneng constituency.
