Meghalaya chief minister, Conrad Sangma on Friday reviewed several matters pertaining to the district disability rehabilitation centres in the state.

Sangma stressed on the need to enhance rehabilitation facilities for the differently-abled individuals in the state during a meeting held in Shillong.

He directed the government officials present to take measures to improve these centres.

There are five such rehabilitation centres in Meghalaya at present.

“Reviewed matters related to the District Disability Rehabilitation Centres. With 5 DDRCs in #Meghalaya, we discussed manpower requirements & strengthening of existing DDRCs. Dept. is directed to ensure camps continue & work on improving rehabilitation services to PwDs”, Conrad Sangma tweeted on Friday.

The chief minister also discussed ways to increase manpower in the existing rehabilitation centres so that quality care can be provided to the differently-abled people.
