Guwahati: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma held a meeting on Thursday with NASSCOM representatives, along with industry leaders and key stakeholders.
The discussions focused on emerging opportunities for investment in information technology, technology development, and AI-driven sectors in the state.
The discussions primarily centred on the proposed Centre of Excellence at Shillong Tech Park and its potential role in significantly strengthening Meghalayaโs innovation ecosystem by supporting research, development, and industry collaboration in the technology space.
The meeting also reviewed skilling and capacity-building initiatives aimed at preparing young people for employment in the fast-growing IT sector.
It also focused on improving overall industry readiness and aligning training programmes with future job market requirements.
Participants further discussed the need for a clear and structured roadmap that can effectively guide Meghalayaโs long-term growth and competitiveness in the technology and digital economy.
The meeting concluded with appreciation for the active participation and valuable insights shared by NASSCOM and industry leaders during the deliberations.
