The Meghalaya board examinations will be held after April 14, said education minister Lahkmen Rymbui.

Minister Rymbui rubbished the news circulated on social media that the board examinations would begin from April 6.

“We have decided to hold the board examinations after April 14.  The date of examinations will be announced soon,” the minister said.

The Meghalaya board examinations – Secondary School Leaving Certificate and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate – are usually held in March.

The examinations are conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education.

However, due to the pandemic, the dates have to be changed this year.

The State Education Department has also curtailed the syllabus so that students do not face difficulties due to the absence of regular classes.

Application and other related forms were made available both online and offline on the board’s official website and its office from December last year.
