SHILLONG: The Meghalaya BJP has submitted a list of 11 potential candidates for the Shillong and Tura Lok Sabha seats, awaiting confirmation from the central leadership in the announcement of the candidates for the two Meghalaya constituencies.

For the Tura Lok Sabha seat in Meghalaya, the BJP ticket aspirants are:
- Bernard N Marak, Tura MDC
- Winnerson D Sangma, former MLA
- Boston Marak
- Riya Sangma
- KC Boro
- Thomas Marak
However, Meghalaya BJP president Rikman G Momin declined to officially disclose the names.
He mentioned that there are five names for the Tura parliamentary seat and six for the Shillong constituency.

When questioned about the delay in announcing the candidates, Momin attributed it to being a central matter.
He anticipated that the names might be officially announced in the third list shortly.
Regarding the party’s readiness for the upcoming elections, Momin expressed their eagerness to participate, highlighting ongoing campaign activities and party initiatives.
Meanwhile, the National People’s Party (NPP), BJP’s ally in the MDA, has already announced its candidates, with Meghalaya cabinet minister Ampareen Lyngdoh contesting from the Shillong seat and incumbent Tura MP Agatha Sangma retaining her ticket.
The Congress and TMC have also unveiled their candidates, with incumbent MP Vincent Pala and MLA Saleng A Sangma representing the Congress for the Shillong and Tura seats, respectively, and Zenith Sangma nominated by the TMC for the Tura seat.
