Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said that the government is working on the proposal, aiming to support SSA teachers through initiatives like age relaxation.
This development comes as the All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers’ Association and the All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers’ Association have demanded a 100 per cent increase in salary putting a deadline of September 30.
The association has also threatened to launch in indefinite statewide protest demonstration if their demands are not met.
