Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K. Sangma launched organic bags at St. Edmund’s School, Shillong on the occasion of the World Environment Day on Wednesday.

Known as ‘SE organic bags’, these bags were manufactured by Saiñdur Enviro Private Limited.

Vivek Kumar, Wansuk Lapasam and Napoleon Mawphniang are Co-founders and Directors of Saiñdur Enviro Pvt. Ltd (Shillong).

Launching the SE Organic Bags with dignitaries on the dais, Sangma in his address congratulated Saiñdur Enviro team for this initiative as it can solve the pollution problem related to plastic carry bags in Meghalaya.

The chief minister encouraged the use of SE Organic Bags to fight against the problem of plastic pollution caused by polythene carry bags.

He expressed his concern over increasing pollution in the city and in different parts of the state and urged the citizens to use SE Organic Bags and go green.

MBMA CEO, Dr. Vijay Kumar D, Director, MBDA Aiban Swer, and Principal, St. Edmund’s School were present.

Kumar introduced SE Organic Bags to the guests present and explained that SE Organic Bags are 100% compostable bags and is a promising alternative to polythene carry bags.

He also informed that SE Organic Bags will be available in all sizes, ranging from kwai packets to shopping bags of different shape and sizes and garbage bags upto 15 kg holding capacity, all compostable.
