To promote the Fit India Movement, the Assam Rifles organised a volleyball match at Laitkor Garrison in Shillong.

The match, held on Monday, was participated by women officers and soldiers of Assam Rifles.

While sharing some pictures of the event, Assam Rifles on its Twitter handle said the match was organised to foster the spirit of sports and fitness in consonance with “Fit India Movement”.

“To foster the spirit of sports and fitness in consonance with “Fit India Movement”, Assam Rifles organized volleyball match on 05 Apr in its Laitkor garrison(Shillong). Enthralling match was played between two teams comprising Women officers and soldiers,” Assam Rifles tweeted.

Assam Rifles has been organising many such events in different parts for Northeast promoting the ‘Fit India Movement’.

On April 1, Assam Rifles organised a walkathon competition at Kakching in Manipur for women and children residing at Kakching Garrison.

On March 27, the Jalukie Battalion of the Assam Rifles based in Nagaland organised a trekking expedition to Mount Pauna for the youth of Peren District as part of the Fit India Movement.

“Promoting Fit India Movement, #AssamRifles Jalukie Battalion(Nagaland) organised a trekking expedition to Mount Pauna for youth of Peren District on 27 Mar,” Assam Rifles tweeted earlier.

The FIT India movement is a nationwide movement launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives.
