The issue of illegal drugs trade in the Northeast is likely to top the agenda during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Meghalaya.

Shah is expected to arrive in Shillong, Meghalaya this month on a two-day visit. 

The meeting between Home Minister Amit Shah and the Chief Ministers of the Northeast States will also discuss several other issues pertaining to the region.

“Several issues including illegal drugs trade, border disputes between the Northeast States among others will be discussed by Home Minister Amit Shah with the Chief Ministers,” Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had informed. 

According to reports, Amit Shah will arrive at Shillong in Meghalaya on July 17. 

Meanwhile, pressure groups in Meghalaya hoping that the State Government would take up the issue of ILP (Inner Line Permit) with the Union Home Minister during his visit.
