The district administration of East Khasi Hills again relaxed the curfew in Shillong for 13 hours on Tuesday.
In view of the prevailing law and order situation, the district administration of East Khasi Hills has not completely lifted the curfew in Shillong, the state capital of Meghalaya.

In an order issued on Monday under Section 144 CrPC, the district magistrate of East Khasi Hills relaxed the curfew in all the curfew-bound areas.
The relaxation will be effective in the areas notified under Lumdiengjri police station and Sadar police station and their respective outposts and beat houses.

According to the order, the curfew will be relaxed from 6 am to 7 pm on Tuesday.
On Monday, the curfew was re-imposed from 7 pm to 6 am on Tuesday in areas which include the whole of Jaïaw, Mawkhar, Umsohsun, Riatsamthiah, Wahingdoh, Mission, Mawprem, Lumdiengjri, Lama Villa, Qualapatty and Wahthapbru.
The other curfew-bound areas are Sunny Hill, Cantonment, Butcher Road, Mawlonghat (excluding localities beyond Umshyrpri bridge), besides the whole of Khyndai Lad (Police Bazaar), Jail Road, Keatinge Road, and Polo.
The district magistrate added that the curfew will be promulgated again in the above-mentioned areas with effect from 7 pm on December 17 until further orders.
