Meghalaya government has decided to impose complete lockdown for two working days with effect from July 13.
The decision of the Meghalaya government has been shared by chief minister Conrad K Sangma in a tweet on Saturday evening.

“The Government has decided to observe the next two working days i.e on the 13 & 14th of July, 2020 as Total #Lockdown in the Shillong City agglomeration,” the chief minister tweeted.
The chief minister said the Shillong city and the surrounding areas shall remain under curfew till 6 AM on July 15.

During this time, Shillong city and surrounding areas shall be under curfew till 6 AM of the 15th of July, 2020.

The decision comes after the state registered a total of 86 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Chief minister Sangma in a tweet on 1.15 PM on Saturday informed about detection of 76 more COVID19 positive cases in Meghalaya.
With the detection of the 76 new cases, Meghalaya so far has recorded a total of 261 cases including 215 active cases, 45 recovered and 1 death.
According to reports, the lockdown period will be used to trace contacts of the COVID19 positive cases reported in Shillong.
In a tweet on 10.03 PM on Friday, chief minister Sangma informed about detection of 10 new positive cases in Shillong.
“10 more persons have tested positive in Shillong. 7 of them had returned from Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai etc., 2 of them were high risk contacts of a positive case. 1 more patient at NEIGRIHMS,” the chief minister tweeted on Friday night.
