COVID-19 scare: Meghalaya government urges citizens to call 108 if they visited GMCH and BBCI after April 23

Meghalaya government has asked its citizens who visited Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) to call 108 immediately.

Deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters that this is required because on Thursday, one doctor of GMCH tested positive for COVID-19.

“Another COVID-19 positive patient of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute in Guwahati passed away on Wednesday night,” Tynsong added.

Tynsong said that those who visited these two hospitals after April 23, should call 108 immediately.

“We request that only patients and persons who visited these two institutes should call 108, and from the government, we will follow up once they registered themselves,” Tynsong said while urging the people of the state not to be panic.
