Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that the Centre has worked vigorously for the overall development of Meghalaya.
PM Modi made this statement while addressing the people of Meghalaya on its statehood day.

“In the last 7 years, the Centre has worked for the development of the state,” PM Narendra Modi said.
He added: “Meghalaya is full of talent. Apart from the organic farming and tourism sector, development work is being on new sectors.”

Modi also lauded the three communities in Meghalaya – the Khasis, the Garos and the Jaintias for staying united and upholding the motto “unity in diversity”.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma while addressing the statehood day function said that Meghalaya is working to make the state among top 10 states in India in the next decade.
“We are working towards success. We aim to see Meghalaya among the top 10 states in India in the next decade,” Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma said.
