A total of 94 new COVID-19 positive cases in clouding 70 BSF personnel were detected, taking the tally to 189 active cases in Meghalaya on Friday.
This is the highest spike where 94 positive cases reported in one day in the State.
In total Meghalaya has recorded 234 COVID-19 cases so far.
DHS (MI) Dr Aman War said the new positive cases detected on Friday include 70 BSF personnel, 18 from East Khasi Hills district, five from Ri Bhoi district, and one from East Jaiñtia Hills district.
The break up of 189 active cases include 161 in East Khasi Hills district which include 132 BSF personnel, two Indian Air Force, and 27 civilians, 20 Ri Bhoi, six in West Garo Hills district and two in East Jaiñtia Hills district.
So far 45 have recovered from the infection.
