Meghalaya has registered two more COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 33.
Confirming the news, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma in a tweet on Wednesday night said both the infected patients are returnees.

The chief minister informed that while one of the infected persons recently returned from Goa, the other patient came from Maharashtra.
He also informed that both the patients are under quarantine in Shillong and are normal.
“Two more people who had returned to Meghalaya from Goa and Maharashtra have tested positive for COVID19. Both of them are under quarantine in Shillong, East Khasi Hills District and are healthy,” said chief minister Sangma.

With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Meghalaya stands at 19.
The Meghalaya chief minister informed that a total of 13 COVID19 patients have recovered from the disease.
The deadly disease claimed the life of the state’s first COVID19 patient.
“Total Positive Cases 33. Total Active cases 19. Total Recovered 13. Total Deceased 1,” the chief minister said in the tweet.
In India, the total number of confirmed COVID19 cases crossed the 2.07 lakh-mark by Wednesday.
The death toll in India has breached the 5,800-mark on Wednesday.
Two more people who had returned to Meghalaya from Goa and Maharashtra have tested positive for COVID19. Both of them are under quarrantine in Shillong, East Khasi Hills District and are healthy.
