Close to 40 MLAs from Meghalaya are camping in New Delhi for an orientation programme being organised from August 1 to 3.

The programme is being organised by the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training in Lok Sabha for members of the tenth Meghalaya Assembly especially the first timers.

Led by Assembly Speaker, Dr Donkupar Roy, the MLAs including some senior members of the state Assembly attended the programme in Parliament House.

The newly elected MLAs who attended the programme include some first time ministers like Hamletson Dohling, Samlin Malngiang and others.

Sources said former Chief Minister and current Leader of Opposition in Assembly Dr Mukul Sangma is also camping in New Delhi.
