Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has congratulated winners of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2019 grand finale.
The winners of the mega contest are Tanvi R. Marak from Meghalaya, Rajeshwari Chakraborty from Sikkim and Langpoklakpam Melody from Manipur.
The 17th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2019 event was held at the ITA Cultural Complex, Machkhowa in Guwahati on Friday evening.
The Mega Miss North East beauty contest, which has been conceptualised by Abhijit Singha, entered 17th year in 2019.
The event is produced by the Mega Entertainment.
The founder of Mega Entertainment, Abhijit Singha, said on the occasion: “Starting this year, Mega Entertainment decided to eliminate the concept of runners-up from our pageant.”
Therefore all the three top contestants of the event have been declared winners.
“They have struggled their way to the top, managing to beat the other 47 contestants; hence, they are all winners,” Singha said.
Tanvi R Marak, a brilliant student, who recently cleared her medical entrance test, was crowned as one of the winners of the mega beauty pageant.
Marak was crowned by Mariam Longri, who was the winner of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2018.
Tanvi, while speaking on the occasion, said, “The most wonderful feeling in the world is when your hardwork gets the validation it deserves.”
“I felt blessed that the judges thought I was worthy of that crown,” added Tanvi.

After winning the pageant, Melody said, “Participating in Sunsilk Mega Miss North East and winning the pageant crown means a lot to me.”
Melody also said she wants to be a positive influence for everyone that she crosses paths with.
She added, “I strongly believe that Sunsilk Mega Miss North East will help me fulfil what I am passionate about.”
