A massive hunt has been launched to nab the perpetrators of the IED blast that killed two BSF jawans and injured three other civilians at Luwangsangbam Awang Leikai along the National Highway 2 in Imphal of Manipur.

This was disclosed by Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh while interacting with media on the side-lines of Hill Leaders’ Day at the Durbar Hall of the Chief Minister’s secretariat in Imphal.

The Chief Minister also said he had a security review meeting immediately after the incident.

The Chief Minister it is learnt laid special emphasis on the intelligence mechanism of the State Police Department during the review meeting.

The Chief Minister who also holds the Home portfolio said that modern and updated technology would be procured to counter various security threats in the State.

The Chief Minister also urged the people of various regions to bear with the search operations by security forces and extend help if possible.

Biren Singh further reiterated that the government will not be complacent on internal security and that the culprits involved in the IED blast would be tracked down and severely punished.
