Maria Tanim has topped the Assam Civil Services (ACS) Examination 2018, the results of which were declared by Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) on Friday evening.
Maria hails from Lala area in Southern Assam’s Hailakandi District. Maria’s father Kutub Uddin Barbhuiya is a retired Block Development Officer & mother Ismatara Barbhuiya a retired teacher.
Maria did her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Silchar & higher studies from Amity University, Noida.
Munmi Saikia and Nirmaljyoti Sharma stood second and third respectively, the APSC said. Baranya Barthakur topped the list of 60 successful candidates in Assam Land & Revenue Service.
A total of 95 candidates have been recommended by the APSC for appointment to ACS (Junior Grade) posts. 60 candidates have been recommended for appointment to Assam Land & Revenue Service and three candidates have been selected for APS (Junior Grade).
Three other have been selected for Labour Officer post while two were selected as superintendent of Tax, five as Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, six as Labour Inspector, eight as Inspector of Taxes, twelve as Excise Officers and ten as Assistant Employment Officers, said the APSC.
