A new bilingual website of Chandel district, (https://chandel.nic.in) was formally launched at DC office complex in Manipur’s Chandel district headquarters on Friday.

Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar and Superintendent of Police Kamei Angam Romanus attended the function. Speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar said the website has been developed under Secure, Scalable and Sugamya Website (S3WaaS) in compliance to the guidelines of Indian Government Website.

The main features of the website are publishing the contents in bilingual which is in English and Manipuri language. The website is hosted on the National Cloud of National Informatics Centre (NIC).

It is a responsive design which is easily accessible through smart phones, tablets and desktop PC with easily configured themes.

He further added that district information office, NIC can directly login and avail services for subsequent updates. The website has information of the district and various forms like income certificate, caste certificate, and others.

He also said district level officers have to play a major role with latest data for information dissipation, and the respective departments will submit their departmental news and orders for uploading at district website.

Concerned district officers will provide information in soft copy in English and local Manipuri language by email to [email protected] .

The launching function was conducted by Sub-divisional collector/Block Officers, DC office Chandel ,Farijuddin Khan and formally ended with a vote of thanks from Assistant Commissioner to DC Chandel, Loktongbam Leander.

SDO Chandel Ksh Siddharth, SDC Chandel, M Gautam and district level officers and staffs of the district administration also attended the function.

In another event, DC Krishna Kumar also inaugurated the “NIELIT Study Centre, Chandel” at D Block, DC office complex.

Today’s inaugural function was attended by , DC Chandel,Krishna Kumar, Executive Director, NIELIT Imphal, Th Prameshwor Singh, State Information Officer, NIC, Manipur, Kh Rajen Singh and SP Chandel Kamei Angam Romanus.

The NIELIT Study Circle has commenced its first batch of Basic Computer Certificate courses at DC complex under four batches of 25 students each.
