Union minister of state for culture and tourism, Prahlad Singh Patel on Monday inaugurated the spiritual circuit in Imphal in Manipur.

The spiritual circuit has been created around the Mahabali Temple in Imphal as part of the “Swadesh Darshan” scheme of the Union ministry of tourism.

The Ministry of Tourism will initiate the development and restoration of different places of worship under the spiritual circuit.

Manipur chief minister, N Biren Singh and state tourism minister, Oinam Lukhoi Singh were also present on the occasion.

Under this scheme, different thematic circuits are developed in the country in a planned and prioritized manner to boost the tourism industry.

“Glad to have attended the inaugural function of Spiritual Circuit in Manipur under #SwadeshDarshanScheme of the Ministry of Tourism, and Tourism Infrastructure Development around Mahabali Temple, Imphal in the presence of Minister of State for Tourism & Culture @prahladspateji,” N Biren Singh tweeted on Monday.

Manipur governor Najma Heptulla had inaugurated the “Northeast circuit: Imphal and Khongjom” in Manipur in 2018.

The particular circuit was developed in the historic Kangla Fort in Imphal and Khongjom.

The Ministry of Tourism had developed the Northeast circuit as its first initiative in the country under the “Swadesh Darshan” scheme.
