Union home minister, Amit Shah on Sunday laid the foundation stone of the Churachandpur Medical College and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Muongkhong in Manipur.
The union minister laid the foundations of the educational institutions virtually during a function held in Imphal.
Manipur chief minister, N Biren Singh along with other ministers of the state were present on the occasion.
“Honored to attend the foundation stone laying and inauguration of major projects by Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShahji,” tweeted N Biren Singh.
“We are indebted to Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji & @AmitShahJi for extending the Inner Line Permit to protect the indigenous population of the state,” the tweet further said.

Amit Shah also laid the foundation stone for several development projects including the government guest house, state police headquarters and the Integrated Command and Control Centre in Imphal.
He also laid the foundation of the Manipur Bhawan that will come up in Dwarka in New Delhi.
The union minister is on a three-day visit to the Northeast.
He also inaugurated the Asom Darshan Scheme and laid the foundation stone for a number of development projects of Assam during a function in Guwahati on Saturday.
