The condition of Manipur’s top police officer Arvind Kumar, who shot himself on Saturday, is stable and he is “out of danger”.
This has been informed by Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh.

The additional director general of police (law and order), Arvind Kumar, was rushed to the hospital in Imphal in a critical condition on Saturday after the incident.
The Manipur chief minister visited Raj Medicity, where the police officer was undergoing treatment and talked to Kumar.

“During my visit, I have interacted with Shri Arvind Kumar, IPS, ADGP (L&O), Manipur Police, who was injured in an unfortunate incident yesterday,” the chief minister tweeted.
“Currently, his condition is stable and out of danger. May good health envelop him; I wish him a speedy recovery,” he added.

Doctors said Kumar suffered skull damage and a brain injury, but this is not severe, say media reports.
In another tweet, the chief minister said the police officer would be taken to AIIMS, Delhi by an air ambulance on Sunday.
“A team of highly skilled doctors at Raj Medicity briefed me about the condition of Arvind Kumar,” the CM said, adding, “He will be taken to AIIMS, Delhi by an Air Ambulance today.”
