The Manipur High Court has granted anticipatory bail to former Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in connection with a case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
The bail was granted to O Ibobi Singh by the Manipur High Court after he furnished a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh with two sureties.
The bail was granted by the single judge bench of Justice MV Muralidaran.
The bail was granted to the former Manipur Chief Minister under the condition that he would not leave Manipur without the permission of the Enforcement Directorate.

Ibobi has further been asked by the Court to appear before the ED as and when summoned.
Moreover, the ED has been allowed to approach the Court if Ibobi fails to appear when summoned.
Notably, O Ibobi Singh had moved the Manipur High Court seeking anticipatory bail following reports that he is likely to be arrested by the ED in connection with a money laundering case.
O Ibobi Singh is being accused of siphoning of Government funds worth Rs 332 crore meant for development projects in the State.
