Manipur government has started preparation for the upcoming Sangai festival by taking up various activities. Manipur Sangai festival is an annual cultural festival organised by Tourism department every year from November 21 to 30.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh launched the website of Sangai Photo Festival 2018 during a launching function at Cabinet Hall here on Wednesday.

“I feel proud to be a Manipuri and extremely overwhelmed to see the potential and talents of youths of the State,” says Chief Minister Biren while speaking on the occasion.

He mentioned that the government didn’t create enough space to the youths to showcase their talents to the outside world in the past.

Since the installation of the present government, the government is trying to create some space for the talented youths of the State.

The government has launched ‘Manipur Start-Up Policy’ to encourage the youths and to tap their potentials, he added.

The Sangai Photo Festival would be a part of the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival 2018. The Sangai Photo Festival will be held from November 22 to 26.

The event will be held at different venues across the State. The photo festival would include exhibitions, talks, workshop, master class, beginner class, grants and competitions.

Renowned photographers like Sanjeev Saith, Prashant Panjiar etc. would be speaking at workshops, talks and competitions during the event.

Those interested aspiring photographers and professionals can enrol themselves in www.sangaiphotofest.com to take part in the photo festival. The event is being organised by Tayal Filmers in association with Tourism department.

As this festival is being celebrated to promote Manipur as a world class tourism destination, it showcases the best of what the state has to offer to the world in terms of art and culture, handicrafts  & fine arts, indigenous sports, cuisines & music, eco & adventure sports besides its scenic natural beauty of the land.
