NEW DELHI: The ongoing Lok Sabha session witnessed high drama on Tuesday (July 02) as opposition members raised slogans over the ongoing crisis in Manipur just as Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his speech.
The opposition’s vocal protest highlighted their dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the situation in the Northeast state of Manipur.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi stood up to address the Lok Sabha, opposition members, led by the Congress, began shouting slogans demanding immediate action and accountability for the violence and unrest in Manipur.
The opposition accused the government of being indifferent to the plight of the people in Manipur, where violence has resulted in numerous deaths and widespread displacement.

The Manipur crisis, which has seen violent clashes and significant displacement of people, has become a major point of contention.
Thus far, over 220 people have been killed due to violence in Manipur and thousands of people were displaced.
