Union minister of state for home affairs G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday visited the headquarters of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) in Manipur.
On his arrival at the headquarters of the Inspector General, Assam Rifles (South), union minister Reddy was received by the IGAR (South), Major General KP Singh.
The union minister was briefed by IGAR (South) Major General KP Singh on matters related to security and operations.
Union minister Reddy lauded the troops of Assam Rifles for their sacrifices and efforts in maintaining peace and tranquillity in the region, a release issued by the PRO, Assam Rifles (South) said.
The union minister also addressed the troops of IGAR (South) through Sainik Sammelan and interacted with all ranks during tea and complimented the troops for maintaining peace and development in the region, it added.
On his arrival at Imphal on Monday, the visiting union minister also called on the state chief minister N Biren Singh and had discussions regarding the ongoing situation in the state.
He also reportedly had a meeting with some other leaders in the state.
