IMPHAL: Officials confirmed that four unexploded bombs were discovered and safely detonated in a controlled explosion in Moreh, India’s final border town in Manipur along the Myanmar border.
The presence of these bombs, located in Moreh Ward No 9 and Monom Veng within Manipur’s Tengnoupal district, was reported to authorities by locals.

Upon receiving the information, Assam Rifles deployed along the borders coordinated with state forces to address the situation.
Subsequently, bomb disposal experts from the 5th Assam Rifles swiftly disposed of the unexploded ordnance with the assistance of local police and community members.

According to officials, these unexploded bombs, along with RPGs (rocket-propelled grenades), incendiary munitions, illuminating mortars, and snipers, were utilized by militants in multiple attacks targeting state forces.
These attacks resulted in the death of two commandos and left over eight security personnel injured during January 2024.
