The accused, identified as Aslam Khan (39) and Chesam Amir (31), both residents of Imphal West district, were intercepted during luggage screening while attempting to board a flight to Bengaluru. The contraband, suspected to be heroin, was recovered from their possession, according to a Manipur Police bulletin issued on Tuesday.

Following initial formalities, the two were handed over to the police for further investigation.

In a separate operation, Manipur Police arrested Marconi Ningthoujam (24) at a checkpost under Lamsang police station in Imphal West district, recovering approximately 1.1 kg of ganja from his possession. He has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
