Imphal: The State Level Nodal Agency (SLNA), Watershed Management, Manipur, will launch a state-wide โ€˜Reform Utsavโ€™ campaign from October 2 through December 2026 under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojanaโ€“Watershed Development Component 2.0 (PMKSY-WDC 2.0).

Speaking to the press on Thursday at Imphal, SLNA Chief Executive Officer Rajkumari Sunita Devi stated that the initiative aims to strengthen community participation (Jan Bhagidari), enhance grassroots outreach in remote areas, and promote transparency.

She noted that the campaign will feature Gram Sabha interactions, district-level exhibitions, and field demonstrations to gather community feedback and educate farmers on expanded scheme benefits.

Devi said that PMKSY-WDC 2.0 has evolved beyond traditional soil and water conservation to integrate livelihood generation and market opportunities.

To enable comprehensive, location-specific interventions, funding has been increased to Rs 22,000 per hectare in plain areas and Rs 28,000 per hectare in hilly terrains like Ukhrul and Senapati.

Additionally, the project implementation timeline has been shortened to 3โ€“5 years to accelerate the delivery of rural benefits.

The SLNA has urged all stakeholders to actively participate in the campaign to ensure sustainable agricultural development and long-term water security across Manipur.
