With 230 new COVID-19 cases, including 7 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), the total cases in the state touched the 13,556-mark.

The new positive cases were confirmed at 16 testing facilities in the state and they are from the general population belonging to 13 districts.

Only 3 persons from Imphal East out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest are locals without any significant travel history.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

Meanwhile, two more COVID-19 patients succumbed to the disease on Monday, taking the overall tally to 93.

The deceased are both males and are aged 47 and 53 and are from Imphal (East) Imphal (West) respectively.

The duo expired at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), officials informed.

It may be mentioned here that a total of 203 persons were discharged from 14 COVID care facilities in the state in the last 24 hours.

The total positive cases now stand at 110,707 and 2,756 patients have recovered so far.

The recovery rate is 78.98 per cent.

Meanwhile, the public has been advised to self-isolate and contact COVID control room or chief medical officers for testing if anyone had contact with positive persons.

At the same time, it also appealed to the public to consult government doctors from home from 10 am to 3 pm daily except Sunday through online teleconsultation by downloading eSanjeevaniOPD app or visiting www.esanjeevaniopd.in.
