The total number of COVID-19 crossed the 13,000-mark in Manipur during the last 24 hours, taking the state’s total tally to 13,326, state health department official said.

A total of 222 persons (including 103 males and 119 females) from the general population and 12 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours in the state

The new COVID19 positive cases were confirmed at 21 testing facilities in the state.

The positive case from general population are from Imphal West(132),Imphal East (37),Bishnupur (12),Ukhrul(2),Noney (1),Thoubal (7), Kakching (3),Kangpokpi (1),Churachandpur (14), Senapati (1),Jiribam (2),Tengnoupal (2),and Tamenglong (8).

Only 3 persons from Imphal West out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest are locals without any significant travel history.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

Moreover, three more persons succumbed to COVID-19 in Manipur in the last 24 hours, taking the overall death tally in the state to 91.
