Guwahati: The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has issued a statement clarifying that a notification circulating in their name is entirely “false and fabricated”.

The notification, which allegedly originated from the Department of Political Affairs of KIM, contained various claims and is described by KIM as “cheap propaganda.”

“It has come to our attention that a notification purportedly released in the name of Department of Political Affairs, Kuki Inpi Manipur is circulating, alleging various claims and engaging in what can only be described as cheap propaganda. We want to make it unequivocally clear that this notification is entirely false and fabricated,” Khaikhohauh Gangte, general secretary of Kuki Inpi Manipur said in a statement.

The alleged notification making rounds on social media claimed that several Kuki organizations, including Kuki Inpi Manipur, KSO-GHQ, Kuki Inpi Churachandpur, and KSO Churachandpur, along with Kuki SoO groups like KNO, have purportedly decided to endorse the Congress party in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

KIM urges the public to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of information before accepting it as true.

“We urge everyone to exercise caution and critical thinking when encountering such false notifications. It is essential to verify the authenticity of any information before accepting it as true,” Gangte said.

The outfit also encourages anyone who encounters such misleading content to report it immediately and refrain from sharing it further.

The statement also warns those who spread misinformation about the serious consequences of such actions.

KIM urges anyone involved in disseminating fake notifications to retract their statements and apologize for any harm caused.

KIM categorically denies any involvement in the dissemination of the fake notification and emphasizes their commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and honesty.

The statement also clarifies that the Department of Political Affairs does not have the authority to issue such notifications.

The source of the fake notification and its motives remain unclear.
