Imphal: A suspected cadre of the Kuki National Front, active along the southern Manipur-Myanmar border was allegedly “captured” by the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Isak Muivah (NSCN-IM) for collecting “illegal tax”, a report said on Wednesday.
The KNF cadre later identified as Lamkholen alias Ojit, 34, was apprehended by the NSCN-IM based on allegations.

It may be mentioned that the NSCN-IM is currently in a peace pact with the governments.
Lamkholen is a resident of Chalwa village of Manipur’s Kangpokpi district.
He was overpowered by the NSCN (IM) men at a location in Mayangkhang village, Senapati on Monday night, according to a report uploaded on social media.

Some incriminating documents and one car (Maruti Fronx) used in the extortion campaigns of the KNF outfit were recovered from his possession, the report said.
The uploaded photo of the captured KNF cadre showed that he was paraded and his hands and legs were tied with ropes.
Notably, the KNF, one of the 25 Kuki underground outfits that signed a peace pact with the central government is demanding a sovereign state to be carved from Manipur state.
