Imphal: Acting on intelligence reports indicating hidden weapons in vulnerable areas, a combined force of the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police conducted successful search operations across two districts.
These operations resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the recovery of a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives.

In Bishnupur district, a joint team comprised of commandos from the district police and the 16th Kumaon Regiment launched a search operation at Kwakta.
During a routine frisking and checking procedure, they apprehended Laishram Rabi Singh (33), a resident of Moidangpok village.

Authorities found in his possession an M-16 rifle marked as US government property, loaded with a magazine containing eight live rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, and a 9mm pistol with a loaded magazine containing two live rounds.
In a separate operation conducted in Yairipok village, Thoubal district, the Indian Army, collaborating with Assam Rifles, seized a 9mm carbine machine gun, a 9mm pistol, a double-barreled shotgun, six hand grenades, ammunition, and other military supplies.
The arrested individual and all recovered weapons and explosives have been handed over to the relevant police stations for further investigation and legal proceedings.
