Manipur: Huge cache of explosives and arms recovered

Imphal: A team of central security forces recovered a large quantity of explosives, arms, and ammunition from two hideouts abandoned by suspected insurgents in Kangpokpi and Kakching districts of Manipur.

The operations were launched in response to recent drone attacks on several villages.

A source said that during the operation the team recovered 30 detonators, 20 gelatine sticks, 10 metres of fuse, two country-made rockets, 10 single-bore barrel rifles, one improvised mortar, one improvised mortar barrel, two kgs of lead shot, 94 fired cases, five radio sets with accessories and four bulletproof harnesses with a helmet.

Additionally, in a separate operation in Kakching Lamdong, two SLRs with magazines, a 1 .32 Pistol with a magazine and 25 live ammunition rounds, two Baofeng radio sets and two BP covers.

While no arrests have been made, the recovered items have been handed over to the concerned police stations for further legal proceedings.
