“On June 13 this year at around 10.25 am, Priya Mishra checked into our hotel. She stayed here for nearly two months claiming to be the legal advisor of Amritpal Singh,” one of the owners of the hotel, Bhaswati Phukan, said.

Phukan said most of the time during her stay, Mishra used to spend in the hotel room, and on August 13 at around 6.28 am, she checked out.

She said Mishra allegedly used a fake UPI to pay the balance of the total billed amount during checkout.

“Her stay in our hotel amounted to Rs 1,57,800 but she paid only Rs one lakh. During checkout, she paid the balance amount of Rs 53,000 through UPI which turned out to be fake and never got credited to our bank account,” Phukan added.

The proprietors of the hotel have lodged a complaint with the Dibrugarh police against Mishra.

“We have filed an FIR against Mishra and informed her to clear the dues. However, till date, she hasn’t cleared it. She paid part of the total billed amount through VMCCS gold payment on two occasions,” she said.

Phukan said during Mishra’s checkout, the latter paid the balance amount through the same payment mode but it never got credited.

Meanwhile, the Dibrugarh Police have started an investigation into the matter.
