Imphal: Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey graced the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Progressive Artiste Laboratory (PAL) and unveiled the statue of Guru Thiyam Tarunkumar Singh at the PAL Complex, Imphal on Wednesday.

Guru Thiyam Tarunkumar was one of the most respected gurus of Classical Manipuri Dance and his mother, Bilasini Devi was a renowned dancer.

Addressing the gatherings, the Governor as Chief Guest of the function, congratulates PAL and its members on achieving this remarkable milestone and for playing a vital role in bringing together varied communities through cultural and community activities.

She said the organization was spearheaded in promoting the rich cultural heritage of Manipur and contributing to the cultural integration amongst the people of the State.

Hailing the rich and unique cultures and traditions of Manipur, Governor Anusuiya highlights the importance of promoting cultural programs for building a healthy relationship between the State and its people.

Later, Uikey urged the Gurus and Artistes of this Artiste Laboratory, particularly the teaching staff to be guided and motivated by the noble activity of Guru Tarunkumar to disseminate the rich cultural heritage of this State not only in the State but in different States of the country as well.
