Imphal: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Wednesday graced the Investiture Ceremony for the Governorโ€™s Unit Citation 2026, held in Imphal.

During the solemn ceremony, the Governor conferred Governorโ€™s Citations upon outstanding units of the Army, Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, BRTF, and the district police of Manipur in recognition of their exemplary service in the state.

Recipients of the Governorโ€™s Unit Citation 2026 included the 19 Garhwal Rifles; 17, 38, and 40 Assam Rifles; 2 Mahar Regiment; 25 BRTF; Kakching District Police; Senapati District Police; Churachandpur District Police; 10 BSF; and 143 CRPF.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor described the occasion as not merely a ceremonial event but a moment of reflection, gratitude, and recognition. He paid tribute to the unwavering dedication, courage, and service of the armed forces, who have worked tirelessly to uphold peace and stability in the state.

Referring to the challenging circumstances faced by Manipur in recent years, Governor Bhalla noted that the security forces stood firm as pillars of strength, operating under demanding conditions while maintaining law and order and restoring a sense of security among the people.

The Governor also acknowledged the invaluable support and sacrifices of the families of the personnel, noting that their strength and encouragement remain integral to the service of the forces.

He noted that the Governorโ€™s Unit Citation recognizes collective excellence, teamwork, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to duty across operations.

He stressed that true strength lies in the judicious and restrained use of force, observing that the conduct of the forces has strengthened public confidence and aided the return of normalcy. He also called for continued synergy between the security forces and civil administration.

The event was attended by the Chief Minister of Manipur, Yumnam Khemchand Singh; Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho; and Ministers Konthoujam Govindas Singh and Khuraijam Loken Singh.
