The Manipur government plans to promote the pisciculture industry, thereby enabling the fish farmers of the state to export the fishes they rear.
Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Saturday said that his government is working on a comprehensive plan to make the state self-reliant in terms of fish production.

Singh said this while participating in a function organized on the occasion of ‘National Fish Farmers’ Day’ in Imphal on Saturday.
State fisheries minister Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh was also present on the occasion.

The chief minister also distributed fish among fish farmers during the function.
