Imphal: The Manipur government has launched an initiative to reconstruct missing state gazettes and sought assistance from the public and stakeholders to recover archival records, according to an official notification issued on Tuesday.

The Directorate of Printing and Stationery said digital archives of state gazettes from 1947 to 2020, along with all new editions published since August 1, 2025, are already available online. However, several historical records remain missing from the departmentโ€™s repository.

To restore the missing records, the directorate is collecting copies of notifications, orders and circulars from state and central government departments.

Officials said the recovered documents would be used to reconstruct the missing gazettes to meet legal requirements and facilitate public access to records.

The government also highlighted several ongoing initiatives, including implementation of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems, employee identity cards, digitisation of the state gazette and induction of four electric vehicles into the General Administration Department fleet.
