Security forces in Manipur have apprehended as many as four Kuki rebels. 

The rebels belonged to the proscribed Kuki National Front (Mangkholam Kipgen faction). 

The four insurgents were held following a joint operation by the Manipur police and Assam Rifles. 

The rebels were apprehended from a forest near Gopibung village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district.

Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the arrested insurgents. 

Two country-made 9mm pistols and four cartridges were seized from the four Kuki rebels. 

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the apprehended rebels at a local police station.
